Position Announcement: Adjunct Faculty

Multiple part-time remote veterinarian positions are available to help support the clinical year program at the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine! Please note that applicants must live in the US.

These veterinarians work remotely to mentor students, ensure all evaluation documentation is received and reviewed, and serve as liaison between student, on-site veterinarian and the vet school. Board specialty is not required; however, we are looking for individuals with expertise across companion animal, food animal, equine, lab animal, exotics, shelter medicine, emergency medicine, etc. But applicants don’t need to be an expert in all of those areas! Applicants must have practice experience, but are not required to be currently in practice nor have a current veterinary state license. Our intention is to cast a wide net for experienced veterinarians by removing any potential barriers in the application process. This role is well-suited for veterinarians with flexibility in their schedules, including but not limited to retirees, part-time practicing veterinarian and those caring for dependents.

To Apply

For more information and to apply for these part-time, limited-term Adjunct Assistant Professor of Practice positions, see https://arizona.csod.com/ux/ats/careersite/4/home/requisition/8963?c=arizona.

Application review and interviews will begin early April. Expected start is summer 2022 (with on-boarding to begin late spring/early summer) with some ongoing hiring after that. Successful applicants determine how many students they are able to take per 4 week rotation for a max of 4 consecutive rotations. There is a required break of a few weeks and then one can repeat for a max of another 4 consecutive rotations.

This is a great way to dip your toes into academia, utilize your practice expertise and mentor our final year students during their clinical rotations! Feel free to share widely across your veterinary networks. Please contact the Clinical Relations and Outreach team at CVM-ClinicalYear@arizona.edu if you have any questions.

If your practice is interested in hosting students for clinical rotations, that is a separate process. We’re always looking for great veterinary facilities to add to our network! Please contact the Clinical Relations and Outreach team at CVM-ClinicalYear@arizona.edu for more information.
