District Director Nominations Sought in 4 AASV Districts
The nomination process is currently underway for positions on the AASV Board of Directors in Districts #2 (southeastern US), #5 (Illinois and Wisconsin), #9 (Minnesota and North Dakota) and #11 (Canada). Eligible voting members in each district have been sent an email message containing a link to the online form enabling them to nominate a candidate in their district. Alternatively, eligible voters may log into aasv.org/members to access their nomination form. Current directors Drs. Sara Hough (District #2), Attila Farkas (#5), and Susan Detmer (#11) have each served one 3-year term of office and are eligible to serve a second term if nominated and re-elected. In District #9, Dr. Chase Stahl has moved and is not eligible for re-election.
It’s Time to Register for the 2023 AASV Annual Meeting!
We hope you’ve already made your lodging arrangements for AASV’s 53rd Annual Meeting – now it’s time to register for the conference itself! The meeting will be held March 4-7 in Aurora, Colorado where presentations will address the theme, “Be There!” Conference details, including registration, lodging information, and the scientific program are available at aasv.org/annmtg. It pays to register early – after February 10, the member registration rate takes a BIG jump. After February 24, registration will close entirely until on-site registration opens in Colorado on March 4. Be There!
People on the Move: Dr. Guilherme Milanez Preis
Dr. Guilherme Milanez Preis completed his PhD at the University of Minnesota in November. His research focused on better understanding the epidemiology of swine diseases, more specifically, Senecavirus A, an emerging virus responsible for vesicular disease outbreaks worldwide. He joined Topigs Norsvin USA on December 1st in the position of Product Performance Manager, where he will provide health and production troubleshooting services to large accounts and oversee research and field trials for the company.
