Call for Abstracts: Leman Swine Conference

The Allen D. Leman Swine Conference, September 16-19, 2023, offers a great opportunity to showcase your important work and help improve the world’s pig industry. For nearly 50 years the conference has brought science-driven solutions to the complex challenges facing the industry. It starts with you! Bring your findings to the 2023 Leman Conference and be a part of the discussion. Abstracts for posters and oral presentations can be submitted online through July 7, 2023.

USDA, DHS Cut Ribbon on National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility

The USDA and the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate officials celebrated the dedication and ribbon-cutting of the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility. This facility, which offers the highest level of biocontainment laboratories and safety protocols, is the first of its kind in the United States and will allow scientists to study and diagnose critical animal diseases.

People on the Move, New Grad Edition: Dr. Hannah Jansen

AASV welcomes Dr. Hannah Jansen to the veterinary profession! Dr. Jansen grew up on a swine farm in Ontario and recently received her DVM degree from Ontario Veterinary College. She is now employed at South West Ontario Veterinary Service, where she is working as an associate veterinarian for farms in Canada.
