Not Registered for the Meeting? Need to Add a Seminar? There’s Still Time!

If you forgot to register for the 2021 AASV Annual Meeting – or want to add seminar registrations to your existing registration – you can still do so at http://ecom.aasv.org/annmtg. To add a seminar registration to an existing registration, select the “No charge” option under “Registration Fees” and write “already registered” in the Comments portion of the form. Then you’ll be able to select and pay for the desired seminars. Since staff will be busy overseeing the virtual conference, please be patient while your virtual meeting account is entered or updated. Registrants will have access to all of the presentations (up to 80 hours of continuing education) through April 30!

S&T Releases New Information Resource to Address African Swine Fever Proactively

As African Swine Fever (ASF) continues to spread among pigs throughout parts of Asia, Africa and Europe, the U.S Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) is helping the scientific community and government decisionmakers get ahead of this devastating animal disease. S&T released today the ASF Master Question List (MQL) a comprehensive resource that provides an up-to-date authoritative summary of publicly available information about the virus to promote coordinated research and improved emergency response preparedness. AASV, the National Pork Board, and the National Pork Producers Council Encourage Your Participation in the 2021 NAHMS Swine Study

Swine operations in 38 states will be contacted by the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) starting in June 2021 and asked to participate in a national level study. This study focuses on the health, health practices and biosecurity employed by swine producers in this country. These confidential national studies have been occurring every 5-8 years for 30 years. National estimates of this type have found use in trade negotiations and providing objective information to the swine industry, policymakers and researchers of all types.

AASV Office Closed Feb 26–March 2 for Annual Meeting

The AASV office will be closed Friday, February 26 through Tuesday, March 2 to allow staff to conduct the 2021 AASV Annual Meeting. The office will reopen on Wednesday, March 3. We hope you’re planning to join us! (Take a sneak peek here.) If you’re not already registered, we’ll still accept registrations. Although we won’t be able to guarantee immediate access to the meeting in-progress, all presentations will be on-demand until April 30.
