Position Announcement: Technical Services Veterinarian

IDT Biologika Corporation is growing and seeks to hire a Technical Services Veterinarian at Gallant Custom Laboratories in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the sales of IDT Biologika registered commercial vaccines throughout Canada and in other countries in the Americas (U.S. & Latin America).
  • Supports the sales of Gallant Custom Laboratories autogenous bacterins and vaccines and other biologics.
  • Supports clients in their understanding and use of autogenous bacterins/vaccines. Recommends optimal use based on farm production type, stage and age of animals and disease challenges in the herds/flocks.
  • Provides technical support and input for key accounts in collaboration with the Key Account Manager.
  • Represents IDT Animal Health with high technical, social and professional competence to all stakeholders in his/her region.
  • Develops and maintains business relations with key opinion leaders and veterinarians/practitioners/stakeholders (i.e. genetic companies, integrated systems).
  • Investigates, supports and resolves technical issues and reported product adverse reactions.
  • Responds to scientific and technical questions from veterinarian clients. Educates cleints regarding diagnostic sampling and testing.
  • Tracks, documents and prepares adverse reaction reports and summaries for the CFIA – CVB.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) required. Ph.D. or Masters in Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology and/or Virology, would be an asset.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in the Pharmaceutical industry animal health (swine and/or poultry).
  • Highly developed network of relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (e.g. stakeholders, veterinarians, industry, governmental authorities, genetic companies, universities and animal health researchers).
  • Effective communication skills in English and French, written and oral.
  • Ability to integrate new information and adaptable to change.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Efficient interpretation and communication of scientific data.
  • Works well as a team member or independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Food Inspection Agency, CVB regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Customer/quality focused, able to support and communicate effectively with the public, clients, veterinarians and producers.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
