Summer Meat Plant Welfare Training Interest Sought

The Professional Animal Auditor Certification Organization (PAACO) seeks to determine special international interest in their well-established Meat Plant Welfare Auditor Training course. PAACO is projecting to hold this training in the Omaha, NE, area following the World Pork Expo in June. Tentative training dates are June 12-13.

Information on PAACO and the scope of training can be found by reviewing past promotional literature on the PAACO website – http://www.animalauditor.org. The training covers swine, beef and lamb welfare issues based on the American Meat Institute’s audit, and is appropriate for industry technical/professionals, veterinarians, meat plant staff and customers of the meat industry (retail and foodservice). In past trainings, trained and interested individuals have been from Canada, Mexico and Australia.

Training is limited to 20 individuals and is conducted in English. PAACO is seeking responses from interested individuals or firms to determine if a training should be scheduled in conjunction with the World Pork Expo. Please direct your interest or questions to mike@animalauditor.org.

Note: AASV is a founding member/organization of PAACO and three AASV members serve on the board of directors and in officer/leadership positions.
