Dutch Meat Board to Close

Effective January 1, 2006 the Dutch Meat Board will discontinue its activities.

The Dutch Meat Board, which represents all suppliers of Dutch meat, has been funded fees collected on slaughtered livestock. Its purpose was to improve the image of Dutch meat and meat products and to promote trade. Following closure of the Meat Board, the Dutch meat industries will assume these efforts. The Dutch quality assurance program, IKB, will continue to be administered by the Product Board for Livestock and Meat (PVV).
