USDA Declares Arkansas a Disaster Area

Deputy Agriculture Secretary Chuck Conner announced the designation of all 75 counties in Arkansas as disaster areas due to severe drought and high temperatures. This designation makes all qualified farm operators eligible to receive low-interest emergency loans from the Farm Service Agency (FSA).

Loans will be approved on a case-by-case basis taking into account a number of factors including the extent of the losses and repayment ability. Applications and eligibility requirements are available at local USDA Service Centers or online at http://disaster.fsa.usda.gov.
