“Wanted: Participants for “”Vet Hunt”” at AASV Annual Meeting”

The AASV Annual Meeting provides a perfect opportunity for veterinary students to establish relationships with practicing veterinarians. To facilitate this networking, we will again offer the “Vet Hunt” contest at this year’s Annual Meeting. Students will be challenged to meet and visit with at least ten veterinarians during the first couple days of the meeting. Every student who visits with ten veterinarians from the list of volunteers will be entered into a prize drawing, sponsored by Merck Animal Health. This is where you – AASV member veterinarians – come in! Contact Brent Sexton, AASV Student Delegate, (aasvstudentdelegate@gmail.com) if you would like to participate in this fun activity. The students will appreciate it!

AASV Members: Sign up for Speed Interviews with Students in Denver

AASV members, would you like to meet the “up and coming” generation of swine veterinarians? Don’t miss the opportunity to interview 3rd- and 4th-year veterinary students at the AASV Annual Meeting in Denver! The AASV Student Recruitment Committee is once again coordinating this efficient networking activity for veterinarians and veterinary students. This activity is reserved for 3rd- and 4th-year veterinary students and is essentially a series of mock interviews for students to practice their interviewing skills. Please note: your company/practice does NOT have to be hiring in order for you to participate in this event. You can use this to screen potential candidates for jobs or preceptorships, or simply to help students become more proficient interviewees. The event will take place Sunday, February 26th from 5:30-6:30 PM in “Granite” on the third level of the conference hotel. If you are interested in participating, please contact Brent Sexton (aasvstudentdelegate@gmail.com) with your name and email, as well as your company’s website if desired, by February 3rd.
