Environmental and management-related risk factors associated with chronic mastitis in sows

Chronic mastitis is common disease that has a negative impact on production. Several epidemiologic studies have been conducted to determine the prevalence of chronic mastitis in sow herds, however, results from these studies are variable with prevalence rates in weaned sows ranging between 7 to 20%. The cause of this variation amongst farms is unclear. The objective of this study was to evaluate the environmental and management-related risk factors associated with chronic mastitis in newly-weaned sows.

U.S. Members: Let us know your JSHAP delivery condition

In a continuing effort to ensure that copies of the Journal of Swine Health and Production arrive in good condition, the JSHAP staff is interested in your delivery experience with the January/February 2005 issue. Was the insert present? Your response will help us determine whether to continue this delivery method or look for other alternatives. Please respond to pub_mgr@aasv.org.
